vienna

Alright, finally im back, writing my Vienna 2 day trip travelogue. Lol, life has been really busy since starcraft 2 came in my life. So why do I have free time for this blog post? Im in the train now LOL haha

Well then, Vienna. Hmmmm……hopefully I can still remember what happened. I reach Vienna at night, went to westbahnhof and went over night. Slept in a……….i dno wtf is that but then theres a lot of youngster inside. Met a china guy. He is studying at stuttgard, Germany now. It was fking hilarious cuz I was skyping the whole night at the lobby, talking chinese with another Malaysian, (I always thought he is a Korean or Japanese because he is not reacting at all) after 1 hour plus, I wanna ask him to keep an eye on my laptop cuz wanna go to toilet ( of course in English) and he asked if I was speaking chinese. I went……..oops…ya, I can speak chinese in a damn bei jing slang. And finally he gave me a broad smile and we start to talk in chinese. He said he cant understand what I was talking at all……he said he used half an hour to get use to my skype language (stalker!)
So conclusion, Malaysian chinese have our own slang, just like I cant understand Malay’s Malay and their god damn facebook language. Its impossible to understand, its not malay at all.
Hmm…spent 10 euros for 48 hour train pass, accommodation was around 25 euros per night, bus ticket from Bratisluva, Slovakia to Vienna, Austria cost 9 euros I think….Vienna is considerably expensive. 1st night, spent 30 minutes figuring out how to cook instant noodle, ended up using water boiler to boil hot water and pour it in to the instant noodle. Then wait. Owh ya, I tried to throw in some spaghetti, hoping that it will get soft and transform into ‘consumable’ spaghetti and it ended up as an epic failure. Hhmm….how do those harden sticks become so soft and consumable….lets leave the answer to the chef.
Mm, so that’s roughly 1st night, nothing much. So, 1st day…..went to……went to……..went to……ya, I think I bought a kebab for 3 euro-ish for breakfast if im not mistaken….then 1st head to stefanplatz for the church in the middle and well, its just a church for me, I have seen bigger ones so that’s nothing at all. But then, Vienna is a beautiful city, just like zurich lol. Walk, down their main shopping street, bought a Mozart evening symphony orchestra ticket. Student has half price, was about 35 euros….it was awesome but its at night, so I will talk about the day 1st. hmm…..visited frank Schubert, haydn, Mozart, beethovan, jonasss’ houses. Its incredible how all talented, world most famous composer in the entire history of mankind, born in the same era (late 19s, about the time napoleon conquer Austria), in the same city, Vienna. Haydn is the eldest, he is like at 60s already when he saw Mozart 1st played in a orchestra and said, Mozart is the best composer he had met in his life. Haydn was world no.1 composer at that time, Mozart is his young friend. Then when Mozart was in late 20s (in his very very high peak), he saw beethovan playing at the age of 16 I think…and he said that this boy will change the world. Ya, most of them was born in the same era. Jonass was the composer for world famous default waltz song, the blue delabu (not sure about the last word’s spelling) aka Austrian unofficial national anthem. Frank Schubert is the guy with spectacles. Well, their apartments are quite far apart so it took me quite some time to visit all of them. I mistake that the royal grave will have Mozart and beethovans’ grave and paid 5 euros to visit the grave of past empirers in the Austrian dynasty. Lol, my german failed a bit here, mistaken royal grave as royal cemetery. (hello~ they serve the same meaning in English right?) well, the past emperors do have awesome beds there….and 90% of the queen’s name was maria lol.
Was that for the 1st day? Ya I think its about so. Then at night went to the Mozart orchestra in the Golden Hall. Where every year new year orchestra live broadcast across the world was held. Then during summer, they will dress up like mozart’s era and play mozart’s famous songs….like eine kleine stuck am arbend (little evening song? Translated into English), magic flute…..but its funny those Japanese auntie uncle following travel agent dressed up like theres no tomorrow. Lol….they took it too serious. Although ya, in some orchestra u need to dress up properly but definitely not this because its for tourist. So that’s it for first day. Hmm…what did I eat for lunch and dinner….i probably ate some supermarket food for lunch and instant noodle for dinner. Less than 10 euros. Owh, for the musician houses, mozarts house is 9 euros, and others are 1 euro. Wtf -____- beethovan was 3 euros I think. And audioguide for jonass house was 3 euros. Alright, Vienna is very beautiful, I do recommend Vienna.
2nd day, im super lazy, morning went to the royal cemetery, its quite interesting that all famous Austrian will be buried at central cemetery, categorized by field of interest. Musicians, mathematicians, artist…..and president too. Lol, all the past presidents were buried at the same place. And something even LOL-able is, Mozart is the only famous Austrian that was not buried there, so they have a memorial for him there. So, the arrangement of memorial was, the centre is Mozart, then haydn and beethovan same rank at the 2nd, jonass and frank Schubert at 3rd row, and about 30 more other musicians…..all graves have dead bodies under it other than mozart’s. afterthat, I took a 10 minutes tram to mozart’s cemetery. Wa….damn babai, but then, his grave is at a middle of no where, not sharing with others, no neighbours, bungalow! Lol….its like theres a gravestone in the middle of a lawn.
Afternoon, go to swedenplatz for their 100 years ice cream shop, well, its Italian ice cream haha. About 6 euros for a delicious choco icecream + mosse and some rum. I think I ate a 3 euro icecream for breakfast too….lol, for lunch was that icecream too, then teatime at a famous café, the Mozart café. They have really fine tea and cakes. 3 and a half noms. Omnomnomnom…..
Dinner was……..forgotten the name, I bet u dno wat it means too because it’s a german word. It means a huge chunk of chicken escalope (meat without bone) + fries. For 6 euros. 2nd day was rather easy and yes, I love travelling in a slow pace. To take things easily. Awesome. Yeap, after my whole Europe trip, I enjoy Vienna the most. Bought a lot of souvenirs too, and they are expensive…….so, end story?
Anyway, rome day 1 day 2 spent 200 euros, Vienna day 1 day 2 spent 200 euros. So, this is the end of my Europe trip.
Back to Switzerland.

rome day 2

did i mentioned i sent a few postcard from vatican city? well, normally i dont do such sissy stuff but then we saw a post office in vatican city and the idea of sending a postcard from the smallest country in the world aint bad so i sent a few. well....if you count 2 postcards as a few lol haha

well, today is another awful day....woke up at 8, blah blah blah till 9.30, catch public transport to the collosuem. the public transport system in rome is really lousy, really really lousy....took us 1 hour including waiting to reach collosuem. (especially their public bus, comes every 20 minutes??? during summer??? dats unacceptable!!) reached at 10.30, the queue into collosuem is crazier than yesterday, the guy working there says.....you need to queue for....2 hours at least, its like a 1km queue...so we decided to skip collosuem, as in not going inside, just take pic outside because my time is very limited, my flight to austria is at 4.30pm, should reach airport at 2.30pm so i should leave rome at 1pm....so, we went to forum roma. its the remains of rome empire. just piece of ruines....really JUST rocks, pillars, all broken but its the oldest part of whole europe. well, its awesome. ok, gonna tell my awesome story. when we were in the colloseum, theres ppl who bought tickets in advance and sell at very high price. when we reach forum, the queue is only 2 minutes because its not that famous BUT BUT BUT we saw............forum + palatino + collosuem combo pass for 12 euros selling in the counter, lol, straight away buy. haha! so, we skipped all the queue and got our collosuem pass in accident. but now its harder for me...because i only have time for 1 place, which i had decided to skip collosuem, now i have pass for both collosuem and forum, so........i decided to run, told kamun to do all the photo shooting because she can stay there till 6pm, i gotta go at 12pm, and it was 11am already....normally, i will pay the locals to be my tour guide (theres alot in the forum, about 10 euros, very affordable and good, i like tour guides) but then......i got no time. so i decided, i will just look and do all the researchs with youtube and wikipedia when im back. theres those discovery channel in youtube, well....too bad la....go into collosuem is a must so i must do it fast. i think im potentially the world record holder for tourist visited collosuem and forum in the shortest time. about 30 minutes in forum and 20 minutes in collosuem, recommended visit time is half day each. lol....well, forum was ok, just that i dont know whats this pillar for, whats that temple's name....blah....cuz no tour guide! in collosuem was ok too....because its basically the same but easier to understand. its quite awesome inside, the king and audience can look at the field in the middle, theres a maze inside...can look at the whole maze how the gladiators and lions fight *wow*...well, a good excuse to come again. rushed back to get my haversack from bag deposit, thx to the lousy public transport, another 1 hour gone, its 1pm, GG....must be at airport at 2.30pm and its near to impossible for me to get in time with public transport because i would need potentially another hour to reach the place where theres a 50 minutes shuttle bus from rome to airport. GG, took taxi. 35 euros in 20 minutes. gaotim. now im too early =.= reach at 1.20pm, will 1st fly to bratisluva, slovakia at 4.30pm then take a transit to vienna, austria.

well, for colloseum, forum and palatino, it depends how you appreciate it. i heard a british guy says, palatino is just a hill! foro romano is just rocks! well, indeed they are just hill and rocks, depends on how you appreciate it.

summarize rome, i prefer italy over france by 100 times, paris is so inferior compared to italy...arc de triumph, versailles palace, concorde, pantheon copied italy's design (tho versailles is much more beautiful). only the shortie eiffel is their own product (random fact, KLCC is twice the height of eiffel). the cathedral is so small compare to duomo in milan but actually i like the paris one. and...most of the articles in musee louvre are from italy too (mona lisa....) lol....france got nothing to show off, the sculptures, mona lisa....everything is from italy lol.... so fuck you paris. for italy, well.......its hard to decide between florence and rome, i prefer florence because its small and artistic but in rome, everything is just BIG HUGE ENORMOUS....simply takes your breath away. but then, i hate the citizen of both country. super unfriendly. in florence its ok, most of them can still speak english because theres alot of americans there. but in rome, omg.....another thing, italian salesgirl/man are very unfriendly. very very. the salesgirls and shopkeepers are very unfriendly, as if not welcoming you at all. o0o well, most of them, even those working in train station. they can say out words even malaysian salesgirls dont dare to say. in malaysia, at most they will give black face but help you when you are looking at the cloths. but in italy....unless you are in gucci or prada, they will say things like, you want to buy? if dont want dont touch, see only....if you want a shirt d, but its on the top *demo shirt*, they also unwilling to find another pair for you in the store, just say dont buy dont buy. well.....wtf? but their food are delicious, just awesome and affordable (compare to swiss =.=)....fuck you italliannes, scam malaysians....

mm....i have too little time for italy, way too little...i need at least 3 days for florence, 3 days for rome...then 1 day milan, 1 day venice, 1 day pisa, 1 day pompey...so its 10 days...

hey yeah, i got nothing got stolen! clean sheet =D yeah baby! but then...lol, the money i wasted in unnessasary stuff is way more severe.....well.....100 euros extra on airplane because i missed my 1st one, the most o0o one is....i bought a italy global pass 4 days for 134 euros, but i didnt take train as much as i planned!!!! if i took all the trains, i will be using like 150 euros so its worth it. but then, i used only like 60 or 70 euros!!!!so, the others just go into longkang!!! T.T used only 30 + euros from milan to florence, for florence to pescara, should be 60 + euros but then, we need to pay extra for high speed train, they got really wierd system. my pass is legit for fast train but for fast train, you must reserve in advance and it costs 10 euros =.= my trip from florence to pescara transits at bologna, but then we didnt knew this wierd rule so we got fined 18 euros on the 1st train to bologna and 10 euros to reserve the 2nd train =.= so i used twice only......for my global pass for 4 days. waste....super waste....then...i left my masquerade mask (10 euros) in the train, because im late, i took a taxi to airport 35 euros....and some metro la, train la, swipe card la and most important time....wasted alot of time in bullshit. well, wasted like 200 euros, enough for me to visit another country for 3 days.......its rm800!!!! super waste money...i could do the same thing but with 200 euros less...well, its equilavent to lose a camera or headset already. so, italy, i dont owe you anything. lol....but actually local italian dont steal, only the turkish and gipsies....or balkans. will come back again. i swear.

spent 2 euros on metro
12 euros in colloseum pass
35 euros for taxi
5 euros for lunch

rome day 1 *vatican city*

ya, i know i didnt write for many days d. will update rome day 1 now. well......more like vaticans day. rome day 2 will be Colosseum and etc.

so, we reached rome at about 11am, well, SUPER DUPER SUPER SUPER SUPER SUPER DUPER stupid. both of us have no cash with us, nothing at all. i used up ALL mine, left 4 cents, kamun left 1.50 euro only....we were stucked in the bus central, cant get in to rome city centre and theres no ATM machine $%^&...we need 2 euros for 2 metro tickets. ALL their machines, shops dont accept card, finally after nearly 1 hour we managed to get a counter that accepts maestro card. more stupid, 2 euro also use card, kena charge 1.50 swiss francs per transaction. cool? so, reached city centre, had......lasagna for lunch, 7 euros + 2 euros water. after all thosse hectic moment, we went to vatican city first. italians really cant speak english.....our way to vatican city wasnt easy too.... OMG, they are true, there will be MILLIONS of tourist in rome at this time, millions. the queue into St. Peters church had at least 10000 ppl when we were there, no joke. the St. Peter Square is just HUGE, ENORMOUS, BIG or anyword you could think of to describe big. its just FUCKING HUGE!!!!!!!!!! the church too....EVERYTHING in rome is just BIG BIG BIG. cant imagine how they build these 2000 years ago, paris is so inferior compare to rome. paris is gold, perfect decorations, gorgeous, everything is gold gold gold, but they were made in the 1800s....in rome, everything is just.......BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG please please please take my word BIG seriously...just compare the size of human in my facebook pictures, its just impossible how people build something like this 2000 years ago....all the marble pillars...with at least 1 meter radius, hundreds of them...impossible....owh ya, back to topic, 1st is St. peter square, hundreds of pillars surround the round square....lol, tho the name is square, its round. lol. there will be a sculpture of someone above every pillar....a needle like monument like concorde in paris in the middle and 2 fountains. owh ya, in paris theres only 1 concorde, in rome theres hundreds of them, all at same level...rome have 1 needle like monument in each piazza (square) and theres hundreds of them, all different....ok, so the queue of the bastillas is very long....we queued of course, then went in....puuuhhh.....awesome, still same expression, how the hell they made this big thing 2000 years ago....its just BIG. you all should really go google the pictures...obviously we didnt manage to get a ticket to the 16 chapels. haiz =/ and the vatican museums too.....next time! haha, wat a good excuse. mm....owh ya, all the popes since 2000 years ago were buried here. we went to the tomb too, to see all their graves. including the one who just died few years ago, joannes the 2nd i think. still very new. and also the grave for the current pope LOL, this evil faced guy got his eternal bed d! and of course St. Peters. (he is the 1st pope btw) theres a big chair in the middle for the current pope, mightier than king....at 6, we saw the current pope too, his name is too long for me to remember so i will just call him C Pope (current pope), we managed to peek at him......well, same in the TV, evil looked.....like dalai lama LOL they can go hongkong bcom protagonist d. this huge church had been standing here since 2000 years ago...........cant believe. used the audioguide, 5 euros. damn....losing track of the money! owh ya, all those sculptures in the church, most of them were made by michael angle, lol, as if all the famous sculptures in italy were made by him. after vatican city is spanish steps. well, we went at the wrong time, the best time to climb the spanish step is spring because.......pictures!!

it should be like

now its......
lol

den its quite late d, we went for a typical italian Pizza Margarita. it was 5 + 1 i think....will check back....i had lost track almost all expenditures since rome. but spent 200 euros in 2 days for rome and 200 euros in vienna for 2 days. ya its alot, actually if you all are planning to visit rome and vienna in a budget way, you could do it at around 50 euros per day, its the souvenir and good foods that kills.....haha

so after dinner we went to pantheon, ok, the pantheon and madeline in paris look like puppy compare to this....seriously.......its like cat and tiger....the size. then we went to navona square aka the most beautiful place in rome at night. well, not so. theres a few fountains and hell lots of street artist. some good one and some bullshit one. afterdat, ciao.

this is for rome day 1. will summarize my expenditure when im back to zurich, with all my resits.....

florence day 2

mm...actually i havent finish writing the florence day 1 thingi. umm....ya, after the bike tour, we went to a food store for wine tasting. well, more like food tasting. umm, had bread + extra virgin olive oil, just....bread + oil ya, without vinegar. it doesnt taste that bad tho, taste quite good. then some organic jam....onion jam O.O PLUS CHEESE....he say he invented thius method, to put some sweet jam on cheese, honey on extra seasoned cheese and etc...well, wierd but its acceptable. lots of them enjoyed it. afterthat is....er...owh ya, finally its the wine. he explained how to differentiate wines and what aspect to take note when you drink a white/red wine. then........err...some organic coke & F&N orange..k, thats it i think, im pretty sure the food store gave the hostel some money so that our bike tour guide will bring us to that food store to try their food and buy them. bought a bottle of extra virgin olive oil.

spent alot of money today too...16 euros to reserve ticket for academia, 20 euros for bike tour, souveniers 38 euros, 7 on food and drinks (tiramisu, fizzy water, ham, coconut drink), 7.50 olive oil, 40 euros on dinner. so its.......95 euros. heartache\

florence day 2

early in the morning we walked to academia, and saw the famous david. the sculpture is so superior compared to all his other sculptures...its like a perfect human! all the ratios and all fine details, puhhh~ k, academia is small, we finished it in 1 hour + then we start to walk around florence to revisit those places we have been in the bike tour. bought a full size purple masquarade for 10 euros, my my, the cathedral is so beautiful. owh ya, and the bridge with apartments up there, the whole row of shop they sell ONLY jewelry lol...like the highest capasity of gold in the world. haha. went to post office to send my parcel to darren too. 5 euros. 2 euros on 2 x hamburger, 1.8 on chinese pork rib, 3 euros on italian icecream. owh ya, the icecream thing is so farney. i saw the cones are so awfully small so i decided to buy the biggest cone which is only the size of a.....pokeball well i dno, 4cm diameter i guess. very very small, like the size of a baskin robins icecream scope. and it cost 3 euros, the smallest one is like 2cm diameter only! then i start to choose what flavour i want and i saw him stack those icecreams up lie PWUAHHHH!!!! walau, SO HUGE!!! i even doubt if i can finish it, its about the size of the metal ball we use in lontar peluru. extra large. these icecreams are very sticky so they wont fall off easily...but they do.

walked around florence, theres alot of street artist infront of uffizi, great street artist, not those in paris or amsterdam. they can draw on the spot, make souviniers on the spot and the fake sculptures are really good. tipped 1.7 euros for 2 sculptures. cupid and leonardo da vinci. a very cute cupid.

florence is nice, beyond wordings, i just cant explain everything, even with pictures. please take my word seriously when i say brugge, versailles and florence is beautiful. i dont simply put the word awesome.

umm....thats it for florence i think, a very nice town, the city with highest art density in the world, paris is more famous but i think its based on italian resaissance too, monuments in paris were built around 18s and those in florence were since 14s. tho the versailles palace is much more bigger than the petite palace in florence but well, its based on the petite palace too. so, paris the copy cat.

so we head off to pescara, the train ride was long and we didnt knew we still need to pay for high speed train! its not top up for high speed train, its for reservation ticket! italy need better system, we were told that we are eligible for all train rides in italy but if you want to be in a high speed train, you need to do reservation! which cost 10 euros! -___- so my 134 euros sure rugi adi, cuz each high speed train i take, i need to pay 10 euros to reserve seat. we got fined in the 1st train, we paid 18 euros there, and 10 euros on the 2nd train, 28 euros fly.

so we reached pescara, hwee ling got a great husband lol, food critic LOL, what a job, eat and complain, you got the money. had been japan, hong kong, indonesia...everywhere, now works in geneva. he can speak malay, japanese and cantonese too. and very very good. he say he can only speak 5-6 languages now but it was double when he was young. had seafood dinner, omnomnom.

did all my piled up laundries there haha,,,,now heading to rome.

spent 28 on train, 10 euros on mask, 7 euros on food and drinks. 45 euros.

owh ya, finally...................................................................i left my newly bought mask in the train. italy is very famous for this thing........stab........stab.......stab.........ok, fine.

florence

actually we planned to go to pisa, but time doesnt allow. if we want to do bike tour in florence and go to acadamia to see dear david. we even skipped ufizzi's leonardo da vinci statue! so went to florence early in the morning, roamed in their local market (like petaling street), theres a few signs saying 'its illegal to buy replica' but theres always 2-3 blacks standing there selling replicas, those are not imitations, its FULL replica!!! omg...in the stores, they dont dare sell full replicas, they just sell 90% alike, etc. monogram abit diff or the horse different side. but then.....haiz......MOREOVER, I SAW 2-3 POLICE STANDING AT A CORNER DOING NOTHING!!! bought branch in a supermarket, some hams, tiramisu, drinks....5.50 euros (around there). so, we went to the bike tour + wine tasting for 20 euros. i like guided tour because i can learn alot. really alot compare to self guided. well, i think it worths every cent because florence is too big to do a walking tour, we cycled from 1 place to another, just that we cant go in because we are with our bikes. but the tour guide is very local and very knowledgeable. well, florence is the birth of renaissance and once all the money in europe were here....this city was full with bankers and extremely rich. there was a huge flood few hundred years ago which is about 5-8m high and took away ALOT of things....well, this is an awesome city, 10 days are not enough, people say florence got the highest art density in the world and its quite true. i love it because the map in assassin creeds 2 is 1400 florence, which is the golden age of florence, i can recognize alot of building in florence from the game haha. just that i cant climb up XD

skipped pisa, asked for recommendation for dinner, went to a really good restaurant. i ate 40 euros, broke another new record. had seafood pesto pasta for 1st course and 500gram of huge medium T bone (florence is famous for this huge steak) as main course. had a DCOG qualification red wine and espresso after the meal. this meal deserves 3 and a half noms (not stars) so its...om nomnomnom that meal took me 2 hours +....

so, end of the day. will go to see dear david tomorrow morning then head off to pescara.

Milan

wasted alot of time at milan to find train and buy bus tickets. none of them can pass PMR english....or even UPSR....IN MILAN.

owh ya, not to dissapoint you all, theres too many blacks selling replicas.....too many.....and theres so many petaling street here, selling fake leather goods....all from china. so, actually its the same, you can buy a high quality LV replica for 100 euros, and tell others you bought this in italy.....omg, this is awful. well, for more info, look at my photo albums....but then, i realized all the buildings are so beautiful. milan buildings are comparable to paris, but less gold plated. the cathedral is awesome. ate a 4 pax chinese cuisine for 9 euros, omnomnom. =D 1 soup, 1 lemon chicken, 1 prawn, 1 mixed veg. omnomnomnom......owh ya, its my breakfast + lunch + dinner, 3 in 1 during 3pm. well, we finished milan very fast, because the last supper museum is not open on monday. damn, but a good reason to revisit haha. and i missed venice too. haiz.

went back very early then sleep. actually we did really few things in milan.

spent.......around 38 euros. above 35 i know.

owh ya, swipe card 134 euros for italy 4 day train pass. including high speed train.

owh ya, speaking of that, something very funny is...everytime we press the machine for train ticket, the 1st line coming out is..................beware of pickpockets lol. once we enter train, the lady in the train gave us a guide in how to avoid pickpockets......HAIZ....what a country.

2010年8月9日星期一

italy day 1

well, assasin creed failed to start....no internet to get dx10. ended up listening music, looking at ALL my 10,000 photos...awww.....those frisbee photos, scout photos, pangkor trip, jay chou concert, bon odori, class gathering.....everything...didnt knew i already got 10000 photos. will kill myself if i let these precious pics lost. really.

owh ya, why theres so many flies?? eww....one of the dirtiest airport i have been. repacked abit, my check in luggage is 13kg, hand carry is 7kg. check in progress is smooth. now waiting for my flight. well......i guess there will be a delay.

ok, reach milan d. everything so far so good, their public trransport sucks. be right back.a
